This conference will assist participants to recognize their understanding of gangs and the potential issues they bring to schools and communities. NYGIA provides a venue for collaboration and communication across disciplines.

Target audience: community-based organizations, law enforcement/corrections, schools, medical and mental health professionals, civic groups, youth agencies, and faith-based organizations.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED-SEATING IS LIMITED: $40.00 per person. Conference fees include light breakfast, training materials and certificates. $50.00 late registration/walk in fee (based on availability). Course Outline:

The course will provide a basic history on the development of gangs in the

United States

(local gangs, prison gangs, trends)

Indicators of gang activity (graffiti, signs, symbols, hand signs, etc.)

How to identify gangs and gang members and properly document them.

This course will also prepare individuals to testify in court.

Intervention and Prevention techniques School Safety Concerns.

Written Examination:

•- A 100-question written examination must be successfully completed with a minimum grade of 75% (75) attained

•- Students who do not achieve at least 75% on the exam will be allowed to review and re-take the exam one (1) time

•- If the student does not pass the re-take exam, they will NOT receive a certificate or any other items associated with successfully completing
the course

•- There is a one (1) hour time limit for exam.

Successful completion will add name to our database showing that they have passed the NYGIA Basic Gang Specialist Certification class. This information will be kept on record and a certified letter can be requested to be sent to any organization or court in New York.

The class is limited to the first 100 people who register for the class and will be given on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at a fee of $150.00 (non-members).

To qualify for the member rate of $125.00 you must be an NYGIA member prior to January 1, 2013 and be in good standing. For more information on how to register at the membership rate please contact Trevor Sergeant, Membership Coordinator, 585-794-7706.

The New York Gang Investigators Association is pleased to announce its 2013 7th Annual Gang Training Conference. This training conference will provide the most current and reliable street gang information available to our membership. The NYGIA has gathered an array of speakers from throughout the United States that will focus on the recognition and identification of Latino Gangs, Prison Gangs, Asian Gangs, Chicago Gangs and Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. We also have special guest speakers that will focus on Intervention and Prevention strategies for at-risk youth.

Due to popular demand, the International Latino Gang Investigators Association (ILGIA) is proud to announce its return to Las Vegas, Nevada with the ILGIA 11th Annual Gang Conference.ILGIA prides itself in providing the Law Enforcement community with the best international instructors and instructional topics that confront national & international issues that arise on the streets, in prison and within the culture if international drug cartels & organized crime groups.

All Police, Correctional, Probation and Parole Officers; Detectives, Federal Agents/Officers, Analysts, and other sworn Law Enforcement Personnel may attend the 2013 ILGIA Gang Conference.ILGIA will require all attendees to provide Law Enforcement I.D. prior to being admitted.
